Resetting a Password

Users who Cannot Login

If a user has forgotten their password, follow these directions to reset:

  1. Click Forgot your password? beneath the login fields.
  2. Enter the email address associated with the account.
  3. Click Send new password. A new password will be sent to the email address associated with your account in OASIS.

Administrators Resetting a Password for a Site User (Automatic Generation)

  1. Click Administer on the OASIS Toolbar.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Click Update on the far right-hand side of the user that needs a new password assigned.
  4. Scroll down to the Send account change email to user field. 
  5. Select Regenerate Account Creation from the drop-down options.
  6. Click Save.

An email will be sent to the user's account email. In the email, their username will remain the same and their password will be generated. It is always recommended that once the user receives their new credentials, they log in as soon as possible to change their password. This will keep their account secure. 

Administrators Resetting a Password for a Site User (Manual Steps)

  1. Click Administer on the OASIS Toolbar.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Click Update on the far right-hand side of the user that needs a new password assigned.
  4. Scroll down to the Change password field
  5. Enter a new password.
  6. Confirm the new password by duplicating it in the Password Again field. 
  7. Click Save.

Administrators will need to inform the user that their password has been reset in a safe, secure way. It is always recommended that once the user receives their new credentials, they log in as soon as possible to change their password. This will keep their account secure.
